RENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The following must be provided:

1. Full names;residential,postal and physical address;telephone and cell number,next of keen details.
2. A valid,original driver's license,at least 2 years old and original passport/identity document.
3. Account holders must produce all of the above including an official company order.
4. Estimate cost of rental period and refundable excess deposit.
5. Daily rates are calculated in cycles of 24 hours,from time of pick up to time of drop off.
6. The Renter is liable for any towing,storage,release,glass,tyers,rims,body,water and under-carriage damage to vehicle.
7. Renter puts own fuel in the rented vehicle and is responsible for any punctures whilst vehicle is in his/her possession.
8. In connection with collision damage and theft waivers,standard waiver is only available for the reduction of liability in the event of loss ,theft and /or damage to the vehicle.
9. Renter will be responsible for the full replacement value of the vehicle,should theft/loss/damage be caused due to wrong and/or illegal actions or omissions listed as follows:gross negligence,driving under the influence of alcohol or substances that diminish your capacity,unauthorized persons driving the vehicle,taking the vehicle across boarders without authorization,not adhering to traffic,road and driving regulations,unsuitable driving road conditions,not reporting the collision to Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire and the nearest Police Station within 24 hours and obtaining a Police report ref number,failure to obtain authorization from us and effect payment for the extension of the contracted rental period,failure to report vehicle theft to us and Police within 6 hours of the event and a Police ref number must be obtained from the Police,failure to produce car keys in the case of theft unless in approved exceptional cases,not using vehicle for its intended purpose example,for carrying animals,unlawful and unsuitable goods.
10. Personal belongings stolen or lost during any accident are not covered.
11. THIRD PARTY CLAIMS.In the event of an accident where Renter was not at fault,Renter is liable for the non-waiverable excess liability until a third party recovery has been made by Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire.We will reimburse the Renter the amount paid
12. For third party claims were fault is with the Renter there will be an additional  third party handling fee of $200.
13. All traffic lights fines,toll fees will be directed to the Renter.
14. DELIVERY & COLLECTION.Renter shall take delivery of the vehicle at the place indicated on the Rental Agreement,Renter shall have no claim against Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire if vehicle is not available for delivery,other than a refund of any amount paid.
15. COLLISION AND DAMAGE INSURANCE.In the case of self-drive cars,we recommend the Renter to take Collision Damage Insurance which costs from $20-$30/day depending on the vehicle.It must be purchased at the commencement of hire.The Insurance does not cover Renter's liability for the full cost of replacing tyers,wheels,rims,wing mirrors,cigarette burns or any other damage to the interior of the vehicle whilst in Renter's possession.Collision Damage Insurance is not only for the peace of mind but also to reduce your liability in case of an accident to the excess of USD 1000, USD 1200 and USD 1500 depending on the class of the rented vehicle.
16. On return of vehicle,Renter shall return vehicle at Renter's risk and expense at the specified place in the Rental Agreement and keys must be handed to a Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire authorized representative and vehicle be parked in a designated parking bay and locked,vehicle shall be returned undamaged,in good order and in roadworthy condition,fair wear and tear accepted.Until returned,vehicle shall be at the Renter's sole risk from date of delivery.
17. By the Renter's signature hereto the Renter acknowledges that the vehicle is delivered by Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire free of any damage whatsoever and in good order and repair unless such damage is recorded in writing and signed by both parties on the Rental Agreement or on the vehicle condition document.
18. Failure to return vehicle in terms of the Agreement shall constitute illegal possession by Renter and Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire may repossess the vehicle wherever  same may be found and from whomsoever is in possession  thereof.
19. Free delivery of vehicle within 20kms of Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire offices.
20. Unless any wrongdoing can be proven against/attributed to Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire,its agents or employees,Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire shall not be liable for any damage or loss,whether direct or not,arising out of any defect in or mechanical failure or the safety of the vehicle or the driving or use thereof,not for any direct or indirect loss,consequential damages,loss of profits or special damages arising out of any of the foregoing,Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire does not accept any liability for any loss of or damage to any property transported in or left in the vehicle or any other damages or loss as a result of the conveyance of the driver and/or any other passengers.No warranties as to the condition,state of repair,performance capabilities,year of manufacture,odometer reading or anything else concerning the vehicle are given by Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire.
21. All notices and legal processes in terms hereof shall be given to the Renter at the address set out in the rental agreement.Any notice posted to Renter shall be deemed to be received 7 days after posting,unless the Renter proves the contrary,and to Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire at their legal address:4th Floor,Century House West,Nelson Mandela/Inez Terrace,Harare,Zimbabwe.
22. The Renter consents to the geographic area of the Magistrate's Court having authority over its person in respect of any proceeding arising from this agreement even if the amount in issue would otherwise exceed the authority of such court.This consent shall not however ,prejudice Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire in respect of their right to proceed in any court of competent authority.
23. This is the entire agreement and no variation or cancellation shall be valid unless in writing and signed by the Renter and Redcarpet Travel & Car Hire and this English version will prevail in the event of a dispute.
